The Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust

Promoting innovation in theatre

The Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award 2010

Research and Development grants went to You Me Bum Bum Train and to Metis Arts for their proposal for Third Ring Out.

YMBBT were the winners.

YMBBT create site-specific theatrical events whose content and venue change with every production. Artists Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd originally created YMBBT in 2004, and their work has been evolving ever since.

In an exhilarating, participatory adventure, each audience member is a passenger who journeys through a maze of live scenes featuring more than 200 performers. Passengers are individually catapulted into extraordinary situations before being returned to the outside world, breathless, invigorated and wanting more.

YMBBT was part of the Barbican Bite 2010 season and Create Festival.

Performances

6-24 July 2010, LEB Building, Bethnal Green, London

Awards

The Milton Shulman Award for Outstanding Newcomer, London Evening Standard Theatre Awards, 2010
